The SMART labor union has made allegations about the product testing and safety of Kingspan products used in the USA. As support, they attempt to connect their allegations to the tragic event in the UK. Kingspan categorically denies their allegations. Moreover, Kingspan expresses regret that the SMART labor union would misrepresent facts relating to the tragedy in an attempt to pressure Kingspan to agree to its demands.
We have absolute confidence in the safety of K15 when installed correctly in appropriately tested external wall systems.
In the United States, K15 has been exhaustively tested against a range of fire tests to demonstrate compliance with building codes. Independent third-party validations have been issued for following tests:
- NFPA 285
- NFPA 286
- ASTM E84
Furthermore, these third-party validations are supplemented by regular internal and external auditing of our testing protocols, which we believe set an industry leading standard.
For our insulated panels customers, it is worth noting that this is an entirely separate business and product set that does not include K15 or any of our Kooltherm range.
